Media/Telecom convergence
Competition and/or convergence of the media and telecommunications: where is the value as perceived by customers and by service providers/operators? What assessment criteria are used by the market to evaluate media, channels, and content? What are the zones of competition or potential convergence? Subject supervised by Joël Le Bon.

Mobile Television
Problematic areas of the mobile age for television: how will consumers use television in the future, and how will mobility influence economic models at a European level for TV operators, telecom operators and technical operators (relay and satellite operators)? Emerging countries
What types of media are best suited to emerging countries? The case of India will be the first country studied in 2006. Subject supervised by Ashok Som.

Cinema database
Creation of a database concerning the performances on different media (in cinemas, on video, VOD, TV, foreign releases) of French films made in the last five years. Typology of income by film category. Trend analysis. Subject supervised by Serge Hayat.

Panorama of European tax aids for cinema
A roundup of the current situation and foreseeable developments regarding the various forms of tax assistance granted to cinema in the major European countries (chiefly France, UK, Spain, Germany). Compatibility between the systems, their underlying philosophies (expected rewards). The role of tax incentives in the creation of capital production funds. Subject supervised by Serge Hayat.

Performing arts (theatre, dance, music)

. Comparative study of the conditions for producing live performances in European and “Anglo-Saxon” countries (state/private sector intervention, status of the artist, panorama of production structures).
2 . Study of sponsorship in France: development of a database prior to a field search. Aim: to identify the various methods of support and the rewards required by sponsors in return for their input.

What are the critical success factors of video games, taking into consideration the economic stakes of the sector (large budgets, almost identical to cinema budgets) and ever-shorter life cycles…what contents, marketing strategies are used, and what are the possible parallels with other sectors?
